Post-Jam Update #1


Hello everyone!

Thanks to everyone who played Dicemaps, left a nice comment or rated our game! I really enjoyed (and I think my team too!) participating in my first jam, and I hope to do more in the future. Although the GMTK Game Jam 2022 was fun, and we had a satisfactory game, it could do with some much needed improvements. 

This update addresses some of the biggest problems people had with the game, along with some QOL changes.

New / Changes:

  • Added unfolded version of the dice to the top left corner to show the adjacent sides.
  • Made the player wait briefly before teleporting or finishing.
  • Added transitions betweens levels.
  • Added confirmation for play and exit tiles.
  • Added new levels and removed some of the old levels.
  • Shortened the time it takes to switch between levels.
  • Added particles when teleporting.
  • Added post-processing: bloom and vignette.
  • Changed the font that was used throughout the game.
  • Changed the WebGL template.
  • Added a game icon.

Bug Fixes:

  • Fixed a bug where you can only reset the level when standing still.
  • Fixed a bug where you can roll diagonally by pressing two movement buttons simultaneously.
